Are you sure you were turning it the right way? Drop D is only one tone off standard and really shouldn’t be snapping your string… Anyways, i suggest taking your bass into a music shop and asking them recommended strings and how to/ask them to restring it for you :) Keep on bassing though! Keep the groove going<3
